Greetings fellow art & nature lovers,
Welcome to our August newsletter!
In these strange times when everything is connected by the internet it’s surprisingly easy to feel lonely and detached. Our calendar was wiped clean of events, and our stockists closed their doors to keep people safe. We honestly missed seeing your beautiful faces at the annual Melbourne Flower Show and the Canberra Handmade Market.
Here’s our silver lining… we have been alone together and we’ve had time to work on both our art and ourselves. Time, to slow down and reflect on the people and places that are truly important to us.
We now invite you to remember happier times too with a special sale on our curated artist prints and thoughtful gifts that celebrate the best of Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Paris.

In mid July we released our most recent limited edition print, ‘Spotted Pardalotes’. It is available from our website in three standard sizes; small (A4), medium (A3), and large (A2).
As soon as I discovered these tiny native birds, I fell in love. I am mesmerised by the rich contrasting tones within the feathers. Their tails have the most incredible and distinct spotted pattern that to me, appears to mimic speckled sunlight through leaves. I have sought to capture the elegance spotted pardalotes possess as they flit and perch among the eucalypt and grevillea flowers.
You will find us at these markets on Sunday August 9 from 8:30am – 3:00pm.
(Please check the details closer to the event as we are poised for a cancellation due to current spikes of covid19 across Sydney.
We are excited to once again be included in the @HandmadeCanberra Virtual Market! Whilst we miss being in Canberra, this is pretty sweet as you can shop all the fabulous handmade, Australian made products from the comfort of your own home! Plus you know you’re supporting other australian small businesses so it’s a win win! Save the date, Saturday 26 September 9am-9pm. We’ll also have a cheeky special for you on the day.
Alternatively, you might enjoy a stroll through Sydney’s Botanical Gardens. In which case you can peruse a collection of our art and gifts in The Royal Botanic Garden Shop, which is currently open Friday to Sunday.Humble Beginnings
If you happen to be near Randwick, Humble Beginnings is a gorgeous gift shop currently stocking a limited selection of our work (including puzzles!). They are open Monday to Saturday.
“It was very satisfying to finish. I loved it. The great thing about a puzzle of your art is you notice things you wouldn’t when looking at it just as a whole. The many different shades of green was something I noticed. It forces you to notice because you’re looking for the right piece.”
Hello art-lovers, yes we are still open! We are a family run business with an inhouse studio so we are able to continue safely working in isolation. We are packing your orders with gloves on to protect you.
As we had a few big events cancelled in Melbourne and Sydney and many of our retailers have temporarily closed, we have plenty of stock of all your favourite artworks and gifts for you.
Stay safe and keep supporting small businesses. It means the world to us xxx

This bushfire season has ravaged so much of Australia and a couple of weeks ago it hit our neighbourhood & our bush property ‘La Source’ in Tomboye near Braidwood NSW. Thankfully our amazing neighbours & the local RFS (aka our heros) managed to put it out. Everyone was safe and all our homes were saved. (Here they are in action not far from our shack.)
We received the news yesterday from our local RFS that our local Charleys Forest Fire is now declared as controlled. There have been several fires in the last 2 weeks on our property so we are so thankful! Bravo to our incredible firies!
The fires are still raging across Australia and are no where near over. What has been amazing is how the community has shown great support and compassion for each other. There are many worthy causes that we have supported and we encourage you to get behind if you can. Such as the giving to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund or directly to your local RFS station. Much love to you if you have been affected xxx
We’ve just woken up to the terrible news of two young volunteer firefighters passing away whilst on the job last night, as well as others injured. Fires are raging throughout Australia, and we’re all feeling it. We like to give back to our community through our goodwill projects/donations and this month, we are giving to the Australia Red Cross Disaster Relief fund. Please consider how you too can support our firefighters and those struggling in this crazy bushfire season.
The last couple weeks have been very busy for us with our Creative Partnership of the 24th International ‘Communicating the Arts’ and ‘Culture Business’ Conferences. What an amazing experience to have been with over 200 international cultural leaders and innovators, discussing Cultural Leadership in the Arts. Being a part of this sharing of ideas, is what inspires a studio like ours to keep leading in innovation and relevance in the 21st Century. We pride ourselves on being eco-friendly and uniqute in our approach to nature and we were stoked to be the Creative Partner! See some highlights below!
Each month, we like to give back to local groups and charities. (Yes you’re right, we haven’t shared for the last few months, but we’ve been giving an ongoing donation to Amnesty International.) This month, we are giving to Giant Steps Sydney – a school located in Gladesville catering specifically for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. They run a world leading program to support young people reach their maximum potential.
